I Saw it All är stycke för kammarensemble och en sopran där texten
bygger på en intervju med en barnsoldat ifrån Tjetjenien och videoin-
spelningar som civilbefolkningen gjort för att dokumentera kriget.

Utdrag ur texten:

I pull the trigger and release
three or four shots into him.
I didn’t know how to think.
I was with my neighbour.
What could I do for him?
I saw it all.
Everything in my head was confused.
All the things I have seen,
that everyone’s seen
they really hurt you.
I saw it all.
I saw it all.
No one is going to harm you.
There's nothing to be frightened of.
Over a loudspeaker a soldier or officer shouted
- you could hear them from far away -
Civilians, everyone who lives in this village,
come out on the bridge to our side.
No one is going to harm you.
Come over here.
We are going to bomb this village now.
There was a panic.
Then you get used to it.
People get used to it.
There’s no way out in any case.
No one is going to harm you.
You’d sit at the table,
remember it all,
then drop your spoon unable to eat.
What else did I still have to say?
Here was the name of the dead man,
the name of the man whom I killed was here.
Here’s my name.
